Government takes over port at Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico

The Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas has been taken over by the country’s armed forces and federal police. Escalating anarchy at the port, triggered by rival drug trafficking gangs, led to the unusual move which will see the navy taking over the management, the army and police in charge of security and government officials taking on Customs.
