India to replace DGCA with more powerful CAA

Does this signify (another) new start in India aviation? Minister Ajit Singh has announced the death of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which is to be replaced by a Civil Aviation Authority. The CAA is to have new powers and more authority than its predecessor, according to this ATW article. Let’s hope good things happen for cargo.
