All aboard! Illinois, Nevada, and Washington have stepped up to the plate to take on a federal order preventing states from mandating train crew size. Freightwaves reports that a ruling passed by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) in May is being challenged by the states at the US Court of Appeals. California also filed a similar request for the Court to review the FRA decision, while Illinois recently signed a bill mandating at least two crew members for trains passing through the state.
