Today marks the beginning of the new American Airlines, as the now merged company begins its first day of trading. While it will inevitably be some time before we hear further details on any changes to cargo, Jim Butler, who is to replace Kenji Hashimoto, appears to be a popular choice. It’s not the first time he has followed in Mr Hashimoto’s footsteps, they have both occupied the job of managing director, finance, Europe and Pacific. While American will be celebrating, IATA Cargo may not – the leadership change will once again hit the Cargo Committee with new members.
