How does China respond to the fact that one of its major export markets – Europe – seems to be disappearing before its eyes? Its own experience suggests that investment stimulates demand, and the glaring weaknesses of Europe’s economies is giving its cash-rich corporations ample opportunities to increase their footprint, as they seek to shrug off their “low-cost, low-quality” reputation.
