While wage rises in China have been the focus of much recent discussion, salary levels are actually increasing more sharply in India and Vietnam, previously thought to be the chief beneficiaries of manufacturers relocating out of China. Across Asia minimum wage levels are being set by governments fearful of social unrest. Now companies are looking at Egypt and Jordan and even, believe it or not, Haiti.
