Dutch media are reporting that Erik Varwijk, head of Air France-KLM Cargo, is to leave the company. The carrier, however, says that the information is “premature” – which makes it sound as if it is true, but was not meant to be revealed as yet. Time will tell – but if it is true, it sounds like yet another nail in the coffin of the troubled carrier, which was once feted as one of Europe’s top freight airlines. Here, Cargo Forwarder implies that recent resignations at KLM are related to a poor working relationship with colleagues over in Paris.

    If true I’m sad to hear this as Erik was very pro the changes the industry needed, in particular e-commerce and fostering broader cooperation among stakeholders!
