It’s getting colder and the people of Nepal are facing a harsh winter. Not only did the country’s two earthquakes dispel hundreds of thousands of people, but supply chain disruption may now rob them of medicines, fuel, food and shelter. Two ethnic minority groups, who feel that the government has failed them, are disrupting supplies along the border with India. To make matters worse, the Indian government has been accused of also slowing down or stopping supplies, as it dislikes Nepal’s new constitution. Some 60% of Nepal’s medicines come from India, as well as most of its fuel. UNICEF said it was in a race against time to help the Nepalese before winter sets in.
