A good overview of the UK freight market from The Economist. It shows how freight volumes are on the up again, both in terms of goods arriving by sea (at Felixstowe, 27% of the goods leave the port by train) and domestically (Tesco runs five dedicated freight trains each day). The article also raises the interesting question of how it all might be affected by the introduction of ‘megatrucks’.
