Apple just does things on different scale to other manufacturers. Where some companies look to have two sources of supply for a particular component, Apple will have four. Now comes news that it is in talks with Japan Display to build a huge new screen manufacturing production facility. “The deal would eventually allow Apple to produce its own OLED displays, which could be critical to future iDevice production. It may not be Apple’s way to get away from Sony Corp and other suppliers, however.”
