Johnson Tan, former commercial director at shortsea operator Unifeeder, has moved to smart container company Aeler, with the same job title.
The Switzerland-based logistics technology company announced today that Mr Tan would be responsible for the launch of its container as a service (Caas) programme.
Co-CEO Naik Londono said: “Johnson’s impressive track record and experience are exactly what we need to launch our innovative Caas, a flexible and worry-free way for customers to lease our next-generation containers”.
While at Unifeeder, Mr Tan led the development and roll-out of innovative commercial concepts that boosted client retention, while prior to joining Unifeeder, he helped develop X-Press Feeder’s northern European business to become the second-largest regional network of shortsea operators in just 10 years.
Mr Tan said: “I’ve worked with containers all my career and I’ve seen how the metal boxes are struggling to keep up with the demands of modern business and the environment. Aeler’s smart and sustainable composite containers are the revolution the industry needs.”
