An Egyptian court has rejected a vessel release request from its Japanese owner, Shoe Kisen, according to this report in gCaptain. The Suez Canal Authority remains adamant it is owed close to $1bn, a figure derided by the vessel’s insurers. The next court hearing has been set for 22 May.
