For all those of you fascinated by Flexport, this is an interview with its head of internal communications. It is also a promotion for Slido, but that is easily ignored, as Danielle Maestretti talks about how you manage a company which has grown so fast. She explains that Flexport has a “really complex organisational structure” which has made internal communications critical. It necessitates monthly “all-hands meetings”, which have a guest host, and which are “expensive, because everyone attends, and there’s a lot at stake”. The company tries to explain what its values are, such as ‘practice candour’ – where employees are encouraged to speak out – but also to listen. An interesting insight.
