The US embassy in Uganda is warning of a “specific threat” to Entebbe International Airport in Kampala. It has also stepped up airport security both in the US and Europe after receiving intelligence that terrorists had developed new explosives, which were less likely to be detected by some scanners. According to the BBC, Syria-based terrorists have EU passports and could try to use them as a route into the US.
