Any new release from Apple is eagerly awaited by its millions of users around the world, but the introduction of its new Watch has posed new challenges for the company’s intricate supply chain – in particular, the likelihood of materials and/or parts shortages; employee training levels; and the expense of low volume production in this early phase.
