As manufacturing moves to countries now cheaper than China, it is possible that more disasters in poorly regulated factories will happen. This terrible tragedy is one more reminder ? if the world needed one ? that retailers and manufacturers need to ensure proper working conditions at their suppliers’ factories. Pakistan’s regulations ? or lack of them ? is also to blame, but anyone involved in sourcing should take note, and now.
