“The EU Atalanta force which handles piracy operations in the Indian Ocean issued an updated threat assessment (…). They consider the threat moderate where an attack is a realistic possibility. They are also concerned that the payment of ransom for release of the hijacked “M/V Abdullah” could create a new wave of hijackings.”
