Current levels of Reefer Rates are inadequate to offset the very high and increasing operating costs being incurred and increases to Reefer rates in all trades will be necessary in order to provide sustainable levels of income in the future.
In view of the need to safeguard further investment in this important sector and to continue to provide a high standard of service to the Reefer Trade, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company will be applying increases of $1,500 per container (20ft & 40ft) to all current reefer rates worldwide with effect from the 1st of January 2013.
