Who knew that coconuts, which have a long shelf life, were transported by air? Well, they are, from Tiruchi Airport, southern India, apparently. The air cargo terminal there has seen a 63% rise in exports in the past year, despite a lack of freighters. Agricultural products make up 90% of the exports, while garments make up the rest – most exports are bound for other Asian destinations. Following a meeting this week at the airport, stakeholders are planning to invest more in the facilities.
