An Afghanistan-India air corridor will begin operations this Thursday, with an Ariana Airways flight between Kabul and New Delhi. Arabian Supply Chain says despite being initiated by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani last year, it only became operational on Wednesday following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the chief executives of Ariana Airlines and Afghanistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries. The Afghan and Indian governments are hoping the new corridor will almost treble trade, to $1bn, between the countries over the next three years.
