Amazon is determined not to screw up its final quarter, when it must meet peak demand. Last year saw it miss earnings expectations as it was overwhelmed. Now it is adding 128 warehouse facilities this quarter in preparation for the holiday rush. It has also changed rules, allowing merchants to ship goods from their own warehouses but be part of Amazon Prime.
