This is logistics of a different nature. In a fascinating article, the Wall St Journal looks into migrant trafficking through Niger to Libya. The traffickers go through Adagez, perviously a key Saharan trading post and stopover for caravans taking wares to the Mediterranean. Cargo amassing at Agadez, a transhipment point, has changed from salt to milk, macaroni, guns, grenades, cocaine – and now people. Business is booming – if rather dangerous. But no one wants to give up the potentially hefty profits.
