 A look into the future on how the manufacturer-retailer-consumer supply chains are evolving as consumer patterns change in response to the rapid rise of internet retailing. The key thing here is developing partnerships to bring about flexibility and innovation in logistics services. There is a certain limit to shipping small parcel items, a certain point where the volumes are such that retailers can no longer soak up the distribution costs so retailers will have to go to a multi-channel model.
