Containers stuck at Kochi port as trailer crew strike continues

Congestion at Kochi port is worsening following an indefinite strike by lorry drivers and cleaners. Already there are some 3,000 import containers waiting, mostly containing perishables from the US and China. The workers are seeking more money, but the container owners said it was “unreasonable”.
