The Commission has tasked the Philippines with improving its standards of training, certification and watchkeeping (STCW) deficiencies – but no one in the Asian maritime nation is taking it seriously. Perhaps they should talk to the Georgians, who lost EU recognition of their seafarer certificates in 2010…
