A touch of market speculation that business at Atlas Air has been more challenging than usual, appears to be unfounded (if investors can be trusted). According to the Wall Street Journal, Atlas Air’s stock has climbed 17% since its better-than-expected Q1 results, announced on 2 May. Shares had become less popular owing to concern over fewer military contracts and a weak air freight market – but Boeing’s Dreamlifter parts contract appears to have assuaged some of that worry. The stock is, however, still trading well below its historical average.
