Airport cargo development continues at apace. The tail end of 2017 saw us report on Moscow’s forthcoming investment in new freight facilities. Now Philadelphia International has announced plans to turn an adjacent plot into a major cargo hub. Daily Business Times says the development at the gateway’s adjacent 135-acre Henderson tract, bought recently by the city of Philadelphia for $54m, is a move to “optimise resources during low-volume intervals”. Citing chief revenue officer James Tyrrell, the story claims warehousing will be constructed to build up “interest” in the airport from an air cargo perspective.
