ILWU offered contract extension at Los Angeles and Long Beach

Could there possibly a be a smooth contract negotiation at the west coast ports? Possibly, after the Pacific Maritime Association offered a three-year contract extension to the ILWU, which members will now vote on. The existing contract runs out in July 2019, and the two sides have been talking informally for about a year, according to the LA Times. The new proposal includes a 3.1% pay increase each year from 2019 to 2022 and more employer contributions to the pension plan.
