There’s no doubt that Foxconn’s Terry Gou knows a thing or two about manufacturing, having built up a business from scratch in 1974 which now assembles about 40% of the world’s consumer electronics products. But is he right about this? Even though Foxconn uses 3D printing, Mr Gou doesn’t believe it will supplant traditional manufacturing.
