Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach aim to speed up truck cargo turns

The movement of goods through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will be quicker following the launch of an initiative to speed up turn times for trucks. The marine terminal operators have set up PierPass, a non-profit group that aims to cut delays, and congestion. Some 5% of all gate transactions receive ‘trouble tickets’ at US port terminals, adding an average of an hour to time spent at the port.
