Cathay Pacific Cargo reported this morning that its volumes had risen just 0.5%, year on year, in June. Overall, the first six months was better, with tonnage up 8% after a buoyant start to the year. The carrier noted strong competition, additional capacity and “sporadic” demand out of mainland China. It also said the transpacific was bearing up, while Asia-Europe was weak, and the airline had cut freighter services.
