According to current projections. the Duisport group will handle goods with a total volume of more than 60 million tonnes in 2013 – at the previous year’s level. The result in combined transport has risen once again. Container handling by ship, rail and truck will likely grow by around 16% to over 3 million teu (2012: 2.6 million teu), thus reaching a new high. “This impressive growth in the container sector shows that one can generate growth with integrated transport and logistics concepts, even when there are stagnating handling figures in the sea ports,” says Erich Staake, Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG.
