Ahead of its scheduled opening, London Gateway is already receiving visitors. Zim Rotterdam, after suffering a fire in August, asked the new port at short notice whether it could visit for repairs, after reportedly being adrift in the Red Sea. The question now is whether Zim will become a more important customer. The line’s vice president shipping said: “We are proud to call at the state-of-the-art terminal and we look forward to future co-operation with DP World London Gateway.”
