The flower trade is set to feel the heat after a fire engulfed Nairobi’s main airport this morning. It took several hours to contain it, and the airport is closed for the foreseeable future. The airport authority, which is investigating the cause, said aircraft would be allowed to take off – without passengers – and that flights would be diverted to Mombasa and other airports. The CEO of Kenya’s Flower Council said it was “disastrous” for exporters.
