While Cargolux lost out on the Apple shipment business ex-Zhengzhou to its neighbours in Liege, according to this report, Microsoft Xboxes will make up the volumes to Luxembourg. The only concern, is that when The Loadstar tried to check how many Xboxes are made in Zhengzhou, we could find no evidence of a factory making them there at all. Foxconn does do some work with Microsoft, although not necessarily in Zhengzhou, where more than 300,000 workers – said to be the vast majority – are making iPhones.
However, anyone following the Cargolux story will be relieved to know that there is an end in sight. A commercial agreement between HNCA and Cargolux is to be finalised early next year, with a signature on the deal in February or March. In addition, the unions are to be further mollified by the government which has said it will take all their concerns seriously.
