A really interesting read from Drewry on how smaller shipping lines have effectively been forced out of east-west trades. It brings up the issue – faced in both sea and air – of how small, niche carriers can survive the current overcapacity without greater economies of scale. And how that ultimately, will affect shippers whose choices are becoming increasingly limited.
