The grand old man of container shipping has finally departed this mortal coil. The Loadstar would like to pass on its condolences to his family and the AP Moller Group. At 98, he had had a jolly good innings, having built up the company that his father and uncle founded into an operation that spanned liner shipping, ports and terminals, logistics, tankers, offshore drilling and more. It was so big that the Danish government would allegedly wait to set its business rates until it had filed its accounts.
