It’s been an age-or-two since the world’s population assumed the Earth is flat – but in Texas however, one man has found some enlightenment. This correspondent takes his wife and his thesaurus to Italy and gives us an explorer’s account of his hopes of finding remnants of Italian industry and internet access. Fixated on conflicting political ideologies, he forgets Italy’s position as one of the world’s top 15 economies, and is amazed to discover the many economic opportunities that continue to exist in Northern Italy – although there are some interesting words of advice on how the country should rise to the challenge of competing with Asia.
