APL Logistics has appointed William Villalon as its new president, with Michael Pilver and Graeme Watson taking over roles vacated by his promotion.
Mr Villalon’s appointment, effective immediately, follows a two-month period in which he served as acting president.
This followed more than seven years as the firm’s global leader for APL Logistics’ Automotive and regional leader for the North America region.
Mr Villalon has been with APL since 1984, and has previously served in numerous senior-level positions, including as vice president for Land Transport Services, president of the Americas region and vice president for APL Liner in South-east Asia.
Chairman George Tomiyama said Mr Villalon’s familiarity with the company’s capabilities and operations provided a “strong combination” to strengthen it.
Mr Pilver, who will take over as global head of Automotive, brings 30 years’ experience to the role, the last 15 of which have been at APL; while Mr Watson, who will head up the North America region, joined the firm from DB Schenker in 2003.
