It’s not just the air freight community wanting additional space in Hong Kong. Chairman of the Hong Kong Container Terminal Operators’ Association has called on the government to  provide extra land and barge berths for Kwai Tsing Container Terminals. He warned that Hong Kong was “on the verge of a watershed moment, as there is a real risk of our falling further in the world ranking among leading ports”. The need had heightened with the introduction of ULCVs and reliance on transhipment by barge, he noted.
