Pressure on diesel vehicles in cities rises

City governments are upping the ante on reducing vehicle emissions and improving air quality, including London mayor Sadiq Khan, who has pledged £875m between now and 2022 to increase the UK capital’s air quality, mostly by penalising diesel-fuelled vehicles. According to Logistics Manager, much of the focus concerns diesel cars and buses, but with city centre logistics reliant on diesel-powered vehicles it said commercial vehicles would begin to feel the effect – also warning that the timescale to act was shortening.
