Panalpina is to halt its operations in Gabon, following the downturn in the oil and gas business. The news came just days after oil company Shell sold its Gabon business.

The abrupt closure has led staff to complain to the trade union, according to local media reports. Other businesses are expected to follow suit in quitting the country’s energy sector. The logistics company employs 60 staff at its Port-Gentil office, according to LLL. It has appointed Action Rapide Transit to continue its operations there.
