Underway this week in Singapore is the annual Sea Asia maritime exhibition and conference, which has drawn a large number of senior shipping execs. This article from the South China Morning Post reports that while container carriers are beginning to see the emerging effects of on- or near-shoring, they believe the actual magnitude of such trends has largely been exaggerated. Indeed, it is claimed that some manufacturers have even begun returning to China searching for better logistics infrastructure and product reliability.
