Emergency maritime services in South Africa have been working over the past couple of days to bring a fire on an APL box vessel under control. Fire broke out on the APL Austria on Sunday, according to the South African Maritime Safety Authority, around 50km off Port Elizabeth. The 6,350 teu vessel was taken to Algoa Bay anchorage, where emergency services were able to tackle the fire.
