Following Steve Jobs’ death in 2011, Apple installed Tim Cook as its chief executive. His resumé was littered with logistical accomplishments, having come from Apple’s operations department. In the intervening years there has been a focus on employing supply chain pros in the top spots. This piece from Supply Chain Digital suggests Levi’s is the latest to follow this trend. The jean manufacturer has appointed former chief supply chain officer Liz O’Neill to head up a team that puts the supply chain and procurement side of the business at front and centre of its goal for stronger growth.
