Many people have been wondering what happens to all the grounded aircraft, and where airlines have found the space. This interesting blog from KLM has some answers. Schiphol may be at capacity in operating terms, but does have the space for 200 or so parked aircraft – but getting the right aircraft into the right space is something of puzzle, notes the writer. It goes on to explain what still needs to be done: ie, inspections, and how aircraft are prepared to fly again.
