Kerry Logistics and Brazilian supply chain specialist Nelson Heusi Group have announced a partnership to bolster Kerry’s operations in South America.
The agreement was reached last week with expectations of joint revenues exceeding R$1bn (US$267m) within five years.
Kerry will be seeking to tap into the 86-year history of import and export activities of Brazil’s largest customs clearance company, handling more than 25,000 teu a month from 16 offices across the country.
The Hong Kong 3PL said: “Nelson Heusi has a strong presence with large multinationals in various industrial and consumption goods sectors.
“Through this commercial partnership, we aim to reach more than R$1bn in business over the next five years, creating a considerable number of new jobs in the foreign trade sector.”
This is the second joint-venture in as many months for Hong Kong’s Kerry, following a deal with e-commerce fulfilment specialist E-Services Group (ESG) which began this month, forming part of the 3PL’s plans to expand its online business.
Group managing director William Ma said of that deal: “We are creating a platform with total solutions from upstream marketing to downstream logistics that will capitalise on the booming international marketplace model to facilitate the exports for our international brand customers.”
