GAC has created two managerial positions: group sales directors to cover the eastern and western hemispheres.
The move sees Ronnie Knowles take responsibility for group sales in the east, moving from his current role as managing director of the Abu Dhabi branch.
Former marketing manager for the UK, Ireland and Benelux, Neil Godfrey, will take on the group sales director role for the western hemisphere, working out of the company’s UK office.
Goran Eriksson will replace Mr Knowles in Abu Dhabi, while Johan Thuresson steps in to take control as general manager for shipping services at GAC Dubai, taking on Mr Eriksson’s previous role.
Mr Godfrey’s appointment continues an 18-year career with GAC, having first joined in 1999 as marketing manager for the Americas. Prior to that, he worked for Modern Freight Company, and brings with him 35 years’ experience.
Alongside these appointments, former group sales director Gurumurthi Shankar moves to take on responsibilities as commercial director for GAC Dubai and former regional HR manager for Africa, Craig Stewart, has been appointed group HR development manager. Both will be based at GAC’s Dubai HQ.
