Chief economic advisor at the State Bank of India Soumya Kanti Ghosh is calling on authorities to support domestic manufacturers as a flood of cheap Chinese goods threatens the country’s factories. Quoted in Bloomberg, Mr Ghosh said the country must reduce its “dependence” on “frivolous” Chinese imports. Ignoring this threat, said Mr Ghosh, could threaten Indian PM Narendra Modi’s flagship “Made in India” campaign.
