New, heavy-duty vehicles in the EU will come under new emissions scrutiny after member states struck a new deal for monitoring and reporting. The aim is to ensure accurate reporting of CO2 emissions. Data will be collected by national authorities and entered into a central EU register and made public. The EC is expected to follow up next year with a proposal to limit CO2 emissions from trucks.
